Great show guys. I loved the opening bit ...hilarious, although, it wasn't really fair to tease us with Susan only to kill her off seconds later...

The 'Geek Love' segment was nice. Funny to hear my name mentioned... I'll have to have a talk with Jeff's friend Sarah from MSOE. Not that it matters much, but I turned 29 last week, so the 24-26 age range on the show was a little off... sometimes it would be nice to still be that young though ;)

Nice show guys - the noir stuff was classic! BTW, where is that photo from with the creepy shadow raven? I thought it might be from "The Third Man" but it doesn't look like Orson Wells.

If you need more Mac testers, sign me up! Site looks fine in Mac Firefox, FYI ;)

Neil - thanks for alerting me to the fact that these comments weren't showing. Still don't know what the problem was but I just asked Blogger to republish the blog and it seemed to fix it.

The pic is Alan Ladd from "This Gun For Hire" (1942). Cool pic, eh?

Patrick - Thanks for playing along with this - and if you ever get to Dallas ....

Ferg - We'll put Susan in the chair one of these days --- we just like to tease ;-)

    BTW...
There is a novel entitled "Geek Love" by Katherine Dunn - it's one of Shelly's favorites. It's about the love lives of circus freaks.

So much dating talk! I've never done a personal ad nor dating service so I thought I'd try this out, I'd appreciate any advice:
    SWF, Age: 24
    Occupation: Marketing Manager, healthcare software
    Heigh: 5'2" standing straight
Hobbies: biking, annoying my roommate, cocktail testing, snow globe collection
Turn offs: Guys who try to kick Hot Pat out of the studio (evil eye to JO)
Turn ons: Finding lost iPods so I can catch up on my favorite shows, geeks, comments on my blog
Favorite movies: White Christmas, Home from the Hill, Ernest Goes to Camp, (currently) Anchorman
    Sign: Virgo (tee hee)
Goals and aspirations: to make billions of dollars
Favorite quote: Great show guys, I've missed you like the desert missed the rain.

Hehe... I just thought it was funny to be an example of geek love... if you only knew how true it was. I'll totally take you up on that beer offer though. Same holds true if you guys ever make it to Milwaukee ;)

    Danni,

I let her back in ;-) even after she shot our friend!

Jeff, I really hope you revived Susan because I agree with Fergie, don't tease! Bring her back into the studio! She's like Mr. Snufalupagous, does she really exist or is she just Big Bird's imaginary friend? :P

On a serious note, really appreciated your information and comments on CPB. That was great. Kisses!

    Hottie Danni -

We did get Susan revived! Actually we've been planning on an occasional segment featuring one of Susan's new activities that leads to a lot of interesting stories... she's just a little mic shy but she wants to do it.

Probably a couple more weeks since she's celebrating her parents 50th anniversary for the next week or so....

Pat, you may actually want to advertise yourself in the dating market as a soccer mom... I'm sure there are tons of geeky word nerds who are into corrupting an attractive soccer mom... what's that acronymn... MILF... that's it... Maybe you could hook one of those young guys by being the vampy soccer mom.

In a serious vein, thanks for helping out with getting the word out about the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. (They're the ones who distribute money to NPR and PBS, Pat.) Jeff, I totally agree with you that this is much more political than it is budgetary.

The head of the CPB is a recent Shrub-appointee who has been miffed at Bill Moyers' NOW. Soon after his starting a push to "balance" PBS broadcasting was revealed in a show called "On the Media", he apparently started paying lobbyists to push his objectives with legislation. Paying lobbyists is, from what I've read in the Washington Post, outside the purview of the head of the CPB... a big no-no.

    (climbs down off soap box)

    Thanks for another great show.

Sorry it took me so long to write back... had a wedding last weekend and headlong into the job hunt this week. Music question... I've played piano since I was five, trumpet since 5th grade, and working on guitar... hopefully now that my school is done I'll have more time for that.

Looks like something big got in
the way of the Laser on the Google
    Mapping Truck when they pointed
it at Belgium and the Netherlands
    on this map!

    Sorry Pat,
    I see what you mean.
At least I gave you a clue about
    where to look!

We seem to have a great reputation
    in Europe for offending our
    member states. Last year the
    country of Wales was more
    than just mis-named, it was
    completely omitted from an
    EU map and replaced by
    the Irish Sea.

How much of an insult is that?
    (No offence to the Irish)

Wow, Susan's life on the show was so short. Hope she is reincarnated soon. The voice was so exotic and sultry. I felt myself listening closer and closer to the show only to have a shot ring out and kill my anticipation of what was to come.
